Congratulations to our Park Regis Junior FC volunteers on successfully completing the Safeguarding Children in Football course.
Completing safeguarding training is a great achievement and, more importantly, an essential step towards becoming involved in coaching and supporting children within grassroots football.

More Than Just Coaching Football
Volunteering with a junior football club is about much more than teaching children how to pass, tackle or score goals.
Our volunteers help create an environment where young players can enjoy their football, make friends, develop confidence and feel part of a team. Coaches can become important positive influences, encouraging children to participate, improve and enjoy their hobby in a safe and supportive setting.
Regular involvement in football can also contribute to children’s physical health and general wellbeing, while giving them an opportunity to spend time outdoors, exercise and socialise with other young people.
Safeguarding Comes First
At Park Regis Junior FC, the safety and wellbeing of our young players is extremely important.
Safeguarding training helps volunteers understand their responsibilities when working with children, how to create a positive environment and what to do if they ever have concerns about a child’s welfare.
Completing the course is therefore not simply another qualification to collect. It demonstrates a volunteer’s commitment to helping make grassroots football a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience for every child.
Making a Difference in Our Community
Grassroots football clubs depend heavily upon people giving up their own time to help others.
Every volunteer who becomes appropriately trained and qualified gives more local children the opportunity to play football. That can mean another team being able to train, more children being welcomed into the club and more youngsters having somewhere they belong each week.
The benefits extend beyond the football pitch. Volunteers help strengthen the club and the wider community around it, while giving children opportunities to develop teamwork, confidence, friendships, responsibility and respect.
Could You Volunteer Too?
You don’t necessarily need years of coaching experience to start helping with grassroots football.
What matters is enthusiasm, reliability, a willingness to learn and a commitment to providing children with a safe and positive environment. Park Regis Junior FC can help prospective volunteers understand the appropriate FA training, safeguarding and DBS requirements for the role they would like to undertake.
So, once again, well done on completing the Safeguarding Children in Football course.
It is an important achievement and another step towards helping local children enjoy their football, stay active and experience everything that being part of a grassroots football team can offer.
